Reimagining my backyard:
What started as a small backyard gathering for my husband’s 60th somehow turned into 40–60 people 😅

So now I’m redesigning our backyard layout, figuring out food stations, lighting, flow, and how to create an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable and connected.

But honestly… the biggest realization for me has been gratitude.

We sent invitations out last minute, fully expecting many people to already have plans. Instead, so many friends and family immediately said yes — and even more offered to help in any way they could.

As we get older, you realize what a blessing it is to build a community of people who are willing to show up for you.

And maybe that’s why I care so much about designing homes around gathering.

Not for perfection.
Not for impressing people.

But for moments like this ❤️

Your foyer is the very first impression of your home… so why should it feel boring or forgotten?

I love designing entry spaces that immediately tell a story — spaces that feel layered, welcoming, and deeply personal. Your home should be an extension of who you are, your culture, your travels, your traditions, and the things that make you feel connected.

In this concept, we blended warm woods, rich plum walls, Indian-inspired lighting, subtle architectural trim details, and functional mudroom storage to create a space that feels both elevated and meaningful.

The goal is not just to make a home look beautiful… but to create a feeling the moment someone walks through the door.

A well-designed foyer can make people pause, feel welcomed, and instantly understand the heart of the home and the people who live there.

Design should never feel generic. It should feel like you. ✨

From framing to finished sanctuary ✨

This master bedroom started as a blank space during construction — just framing, drywall, and potential.

The goal was to create more than just a bedroom. The vision was a private retreat within the home.

We designed a custom media wall with built-ins to anchor the room and provide elegant storage. On the opposite side, we created built-in bench seating, forming a cozy corner to relax, read, or simply enjoy a quiet moment.

Every detail — from the furniture layout to lighting and textiles — was planned to bring warmth, comfort, and balance to the space.

Because great design isn’t just about how a room looks.
It’s about how it supports the way you live.

One thing I wish I had included in my own kitchen? A proper appliance garage.

When you actually cook every day and rely on your Instant Pot, toaster, blender, or coffee machine… pulling them out and putting them away constantly gets old fast. Eventually, they just live on the counter.

This is why I love a kitchen garage.
✔️ Appliances stay plugged in
✔️ No daily lifting and storing
✔️ Counters stay clean and intentional

Function first. Then beauty follows.

As this new year begins, I’m reflecting on one of the teachings that guides me: when we fill our actions with love and awareness, even the simplest spaces become sacred. A home is not made sacred by perfection, but by the peace, kindness, and togetherness it holds.

May your home be a place where you feel safe to exhale, where meals nourish both body and spirit, and where people gather easily and leave lighter than when they arrived. May it be a space of prayer, laughter, culture, and compassion — a quiet reminder of the Divine presence in everyday life.
