Just wrapped up one of two deck remodels on this property. The original deck was at grade, which rotted all of the framing from constant moisture. I went larger with the new deck and attached it to the garage foundation, and ran it out to a beam a few feet off the ground. This allows a larger deck, plus it keeps the main framing off of the ground allowing airflow below it, and a longer lasting deck.

I picture framed the perimeter, widened the entry into the garage, and widened the stairs to make it more comfortable for the future.

Today I was able to get the stairs framed, posts installed, and all necessary hardware for code compliance done on this deck.

Tomorrow I will start on the second deck, and get some boards down later this week!

Here’s a deck wrapped up from a few weeks ago, eventually we will be adding a set of stairs and finishing off the posts and beams with LP smart side. It’s going to be awesome for entertaining, and being covered it will be great for multi season use.

Making good progress on this Trex composite deck!

The frame sat for longer than expected (I didn’t frame it) so it needed quite a bit of planing and added blocking to get it ready for composite material.

I got the base cabinets installed today on this condo project, it’s coming together!

Because of time constraints, I installed the shiplap and panels at a specific height, so the countertop company will be able to slide the counter in place for a tight fit.

Good progress on day one of this kitchen remodel! The layout is similar to what it was before, but the new upper cabinets will be 48” tall, with a 15” upper section with clear glass.

We are doing puck lights in each upper cabinet, and LED lighting under them.

Electrical is roughed in, and I got the backsplash pulled and new drywall patched in.

Made good progress today on installing these custom laundry cabinets I built a few months ago.

Tomorrow I will wrap up the window trim, and get crown molding installed. This laundry/mudroom/bathroom project is finally nearing the end!

Bringing TBRE | Terpstra Burton Real Estate visions to life on one of their flip jobs! I cut an opening into a previous storage area that was only accessible through the laundry room.

This new space is right off of the kitchen/dining area, and will be perfect for a home office, or a library.

I’ll be back in a couple weeks to finish the breakfast bar area, and then this home will be on the market!

Deck season has begun!

Making good progress on this switchback stairway for a bonus room above the garage.

I used cedar tone PT decking- which I am a big fan of compared to typical green pressure treated decking.
