Monday update: the ants are GONE! always make sure you use a bait and not a spray when you discover an ant infestation.

Killing the workers means the queen and the rest of the population at the nest are not getting the food and water she sent the workers for, and you end up splitting the colony and making the problem worse.

The other important tip, is to bring some of the ants in with you to the store, so we can do a proper ID on them to be sure you are going home with the right bait for the right type of ant.

Flying ants OR Termites? 🦟

Do you know how to tell the difference? Well let me give you a quick lesson…

Ants and termites both have wings when in their 🦟Reproductive stages. It’s called the swarm stage.

Ants have one set of wings and termites have TWO sets of wings.

Ants have THREE 🦟distinctive body parts head, abdomen, and thorax. Termites have a head and elongated body, so there is no noticeable pinched waste line.

So the next time you see a swarm of flying ant-looking-bugs, you now know how to quickly differentiate between ants and termites.🦟

If you want a positive ID, and professional advice on what to do about either of those pesty critters, catch some on some clear scotch tape, and a fix that to a piece of plain white paper and bring them in. We’re happy to help! 🦟
