A bouquet created from the blooming flowers at this Pollinator Garden, and presented by Stephanie Melonas Culver, to Sandra Jonas’s daughter, DrStacey Hubar Kohler, on behalf of all the UGA Troup County Extension Master Gardeners. This was done at the funeral for Sandra Jonas, who was the landscape architect for the Hogansville Pollinator Garden Hogansville Public Library. Sandra Jonas,a resident of Hogansville, had requested all her gardener friends (for whom she was a loving mentor) bring a flower blooming from their own gardens, to lay on her casket, when she was laid to rest on July 9th, at Whispering Hills Natural Green Cemetery & Memorial Nature Preserve, in LaGrange. She will be missed and yet remembered, whenever we see the flowers blooming at the Hogansville Pollinator Park.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Sandra Jonas. An amazing horticulturalist and professional landscape designer, Sandra offered her expertise and aesthetic talent in designing the shape of the Pollinator Garden here at the Hogansville public library. She will have a graveside service Thursday,July 9th, at 10:00 am at Whispering Hills nature cemetery in LaGrange. All who knew her (as a friend,mentor, and fellow gardener) will be bringing flowers from their gardens (as she requested) to be placed on her casket. Those bringing a flower from their garden will meet at 9:30 at Whispering Hills to create a group bouquet. We are also creating a bouquet of flowers from the Pollinator garden that she designed here at the Hogansville Public Library. (For those who wish to remember her, she also requested -in lieu of flowers delivered- that a donation be made to St.Jude’s Hospital in her name.) ❤️🙏
