Part 5 — Main Bathroom & Hallway
Finishing strong with the details that matter most.
Paul wraps the series in the main bathroom and hallway. In the main bath — used by guests and the kids' rooms — marmoleum flooring pairs with IKEA cabinetry as a smart budget call that keeps quality high. The bathtub was salvaged from another bathroom in the house and brought back to life with all-new tile around it.
Out in the hallway, accessibility is built into the bones: four-foot widths, three-foot doors throughout (broader than typical for an easier wheelchair turn radius), original light fixtures preserved overhead, and the original built-in cabinet kept right where it belongs — with doors that swing wide enough to reach the lower shelves from a seated position. We also added an ERV for fresh, filtered air year-round.
That's a wrap on the series — thank you for following along! Drop your favorite feature in the comments.
