Another morning, another coffee — and it’s Fun Shirt Friday.

Today’s agenda: wrapping up the week by making the rounds and checking our job sites for EOW progress.

READY OR NOT, HERE I COME.

I’ll admit it — I’m extremely particular when it comes to our projects. I want every job site clean, organized, safe, and running the way it should. No unnecessary mess. No avoidable hazards. No loose ends that turn into liabilities.

To me, quality construction isn’t just about what the finished project looks like. It’s also about how the project is managed from start to finish.

That means checking workmanship, keeping materials organized, making sure the site is safe, addressing issues before they become bigger problems, and holding our team to the standard our clients are paying for.

So coffee in hand, fun shirt on, and I’m headed out to see what everybody’s been up to this week.

Good morning from Rappley’s Renovations.

This photo is probably a pretty accurate picture of what most mornings look like for me — coffee in hand, taking kids to school, mentally running through the day ahead before I ever make it to the first jobsite.

I’ve realized lately that while we’ve been extremely busy working behind the scenes, I haven’t been nearly as consistent about showing up here and sharing the people, projects, and story behind this company.

So I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself.

I’m Amber Rappley, owner of Rappley’s Renovations, a woman-owned residential and light commercial construction company serving our local Georgia communities.

I’m also a mother of six children — four teenagers and two toddlers — which means there is really no such thing as a slow morning around here.

Most days start with school drop-offs, coffee, packed schedules, and making sure everyone else is where they need to be. Then I switch gears and step into everything that comes with running a construction company.

That can mean estimates, jobsite inspections, client meetings, permits, subcontractors, materials, project management, renovations, restorations, water mitigation, fire restoration, and the thousand little decisions that keep a project moving.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I still get to enjoy one of the things I love most — design.

I have always loved interior design and the process of taking a space that feels outdated, damaged, or just no longer works for a family and turning it into something functional, beautiful, and personal.

I’m also a huge lover of all things vintage and antique. I love pieces with history, character, and a story behind them. That passion has grown into antique booths in Rockmart and Rome, where I get to hunt for, curate, and sell unique vintage finds.

It may seem like a lot of different worlds, but to me they all connect.

Construction. Restoration. Design. Antiques.

They all involve looking at something and seeing the potential in what it could become.

That is a big part of what Rappley’s Renovations is built around.

We specialize in residential renovations, restoration, water mitigation, fire restoration, and light commercial projects, and we take pride in doing our work professionally, correctly, and with attention to the details that matter.

I also want to get back to being more present here — not just posting the finished product, but showing more of the real process.

The before-and-afters.
The design decisions.
The jobsite progress.
The homeowner education.
The challenges that come up.
The lessons we learn.
And some of the everyday life behind running a construction company while raising a big family.

🍂 We’re feeling fall in the air at Rappley’s Renovations… even if Georgia is still reminding us that summer isn’t quite finished yet! ☀️😂

The mums are out, the coffee bar is dressed for the season, and our office is officially getting all the cozy fall vibes. 🧡☕🍁

This little cutie on a beautiful corner lot in Powder Springs may be getting a whole new look! 🏡✨

We’re on site today completing our inspection, evaluating the property, and putting together a detailed renovation estimate.

There’s something special about taking a home with great bones and helping bring out its full potential—and we can already see so much potential here.

Sometimes the biggest part of a renovation isn’t building something new—it’s fixing what should have been done right the first time.

We took over this project after another contractor left behind a long list of issues that needed to be corrected. While we’d love to power through and finish it all at once, Mother Nature has had other plans. 🌧️

The rain has caused more than a few setbacks, so we’re making the most of every break in the weather. Today, the blue skies finally gave us the chance to get the siding painted. There’s still fascia, soffit, and several finishing details left to complete (as you’ll see in the video), but every dry day gets us one step closer.

The beginning of this video shows exactly what we’ve been working against—but we’re committed to quality over shortcuts. We’d rather take a little longer and deliver a job that’s built to last than rush through it just to say it’s finished.

Rappley’s Renovations is growing, and we’re looking to add a Part-Time Bookkeeper to our team ASAP!

If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy helping businesses stay financially strong, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

✔️ Manage bookkeeping in accounting software (QuickBooks Online or Xero experience preferred)
✔️ Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
✔️ Track accounts payable and accounts receivable
✔️ Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports
✔️ Organize receipts and financial records
✔️ Assist with cash flow tracking and financial reporting
✔️ Work closely with ownership and our CPA

Qualifications:

* Bookkeeping experience required
* Construction industry experience is a plus
* Strong attention to detail
* Reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated
* Comfortable working independently

📍 Location: Hiram, GA (In-office preferred, with flexibility for the right candidate)

⏰ Part-Time: Approximately 20–25 hours per week
