Phlox Ka-Pow anyone? We’re getting ready for fall and this compact garden phlox series was bred to be built around dwarf, mildew resistant plants suited to smaller gardens and mass plantings, alternative to taller, older-style garden phlox. This phlox doesn’t just bloom, it goes Ka-Pow!

Welcome to the Plantworks team Joey! Our newest member of the sales crew, Joey got hooked on plants when he first began propagating his own houseplants. After working at a retail greenhouse, as a houseplant sales specialist and as a lead buyer with various individual garden centers, he’s made his way to us with buckets of knowledge and excitement. Thanks to his west facing balcony, Joey thrives at growing succulents and dreams of having a garden big enough to add his new fav: Joe Pye W**d! Welcome Joey 🎉

Lots of Rudbeckia varieties available right now! Here’s the main differences between some of our favs from left to right:
‘American Goldrush’- 2024 Perennial Plant of the Year, this is the newest and most disease resistant. Uniform and mounded form with narrow leaves.
‘Prairie Sun’- Behaves as an annual/biennial, best for cut flowers, 5” blooms and distinct light green center.
‘Little Goldstar’- Compact and improved flower performance (up to 80 on one plant!) knee-high and great for containers.
‘Goldsturm’- Waist-high, heavy self seeder, spreads 18-23”.

Baptisia is nature’s very own maraca and the definition of a multi-season interest plant! In spring, it emerges with fresh blue/green foliage, followed by a spectacular show of flower spikes. As summer continues, the blooms turn into these decorative seed pods that dry on the plant. Whenever you shake them (or wind comes by!) you’ll hear this satisfying rattle, hence the nickname rattleweed
