No job too small.

Of course we do larger buildings regularly but this customer needed a 24x24 with a loft built on a hillside overlooking a lake. Being elevated made it a little different. They are going to finish the deck, stairs and interior themselves. If you can dream it, we can build it.

Today I want to talk about wooden posts and rotting wood.

We live in an area where wood will eventually rot when placed below grade. It is the most common failure point on aging Post Frame buildings

SULCO only uses concrete piers or stem walls below grade to prevent this problem. Concrete insures your building will stand strong for many decades to come.

If you are being told sleeves will work and are cheaper, they will only delay the inevitable. Most builders drill a hole in the bottom of the sleeves when installing to allow water to drain out. It also allows water to seep in. Also, We all know plastic will eventually become brittle and crack allowing water to come in contact with the wood. Water will result in rot. It’s inevitable.

Concrete is the best plan for longevity. And SULCO ONLY uses concrete systems.

We have been so blessed with jobs lately that I haven’t had time to update our progress on projects. This one was a fun and different project. We started by adding an additional breezeway to connect a future building. Installed a Standing seam metal roof and metal board and baton siding. This house turned out amazing and will be maintenance free for decades to come.
