Excited to share with y’all a little project I’ve been working on! I saw these decanters a while back and thought they were super cool. They ended up being a bit more challenging than expected, but overall were a lot of fun to make!

With the holidays right around the corner, these would make an awesome gift for any whiskey drinker. I have 8 available; 4 cherry red and 4 dark espresso. I’m also taking orders for custom designs or colors, just shoot me a DM.

My wife and I are expecting our first child, a boy, in January. So, we’ve been working to get the nursery ready, and, as I’m sure all expecting parents do, have looked at countless pictures online for inspiration. Board and Batten was a pattern we kept coming back to, and decided to give it a go. It provided more challenges than expected, but we’re really happy with how it came out!

A little backstory on the name “Wanderers Woodshop.” First of all, my wife Devin and I love being outside, hiking and exploring all the amazing trails that Colorado has to offer. So, we knew we wanted a name that tied in our affinity for the outdoors. Additionally, she expressed interest in this being a joint venture, where we both work on projects together. My last name is Sanders, her maiden name is Withers, combine the two, and that’s how we came up with Wanderers!!

Double project: simple frame to spruce up a cheap IKEA print, and wall mount record display! Neither project took much more than an hour (excluding time for the stain to dry), but think they’re both great additions to our record/bar area!!

I think part of the reason I love woodworking is because I love puzzles. I love starting with small, indistinguishable pieces, and watching the whole picture come together. This project was so much fun because it was basically one big puzzle. It started as a scribble on a scrap piece of paper, and turned into this giant 4’ x 5’ mountain silhouette!

Why buy a new ottoman tray, when you can repurpose a $20 marketplace coffee table? Honesty, I was surprised how good it his came out given the shape the coffee table was in. A little cutting, sanding, and staining gave the table a second life, rather than ending up in the dumpster!

A fun little project inspired by something I saw online. We love all things mountains, so figured I’d give it a go! Really happy with how it turned out, would love to make some more!!

The first project I took on after we moved into our first home!

Armed with nothing but a miter saw, drill, and a few hand tools I took on the biggest project I’ve ever done, and the first one in probably over a decade.

It’s not perfect, but I love the way it came out, and hope to enjoy many family meals around it for years to come!

I learned a lot from the experience, and more importantly have more tools at my disposal. I know the next table I build will come out even better!
