Eighty-two years ago, U.S. Army Rangers scaled the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc under relentless enemy fire, accomplishing what many believed was impossible.

Their mission was critical. Their courage was extraordinary.

Today, we remember the Rangers who answered the call on June 6, 1944, and the sacrifices made by all those who fought for freedom on D-Day.

The Korte Company is honored to have helped preserve that legacy through the construction of the 2nd Ranger Battalion Memorial at Joint Base Lewis-McChord - a place where future generations can reflect on the bravery, determination and selfless service that changed the course of history.

Some legacies are built in concrete and steel. Others are built in courage. Pointe du Hoc is both.

A Sunday spent well.

Members of the Korte team participated in the Ainad Phoenix Club’s 2nd Annual Clay Shooting Competition last weekend.

We’re grateful for opportunities to spend time together while supporting organizations that bring people together for a good cause.

Before it became a NASA facility, it was an idea sketched on an airplane napkin.

Completed in 1992, Building 4203 at NASA’s George C. Marshall Space Flight Center was a six-story, 234,000-square-foot milestone project for The Korte Company.

NASA needed an engineering facility that improved access and visibility to the campus courtyard on a challenging site. Dennis Calvert’s solution was simple, but defining: rotate the building 45 degrees.

That design move helped earn Korte the project, gave 700 NASA engineers a new place to work and marked our first major public Design-Build project.

More than 30 years later, it remains a reminder that Build Smart often begins with seeing the challenge from a different angle.

Leave things better than you found them.

That principle guided Vince Gnaedinger throughout his time at The Korte Company. It also became the foundation for the careers of his sons, Brian and Steve.

From Vince’s work in quality control to Brian’s decades leading Diversified Operations and Steve’s role overseeing warehouse operations, the Gnaedinger family has left its mark across generations of work, people and projects.

Their story is one of hard work, dedication and a kind of grit that carries on.
