Others want to take part in the process themselves! 🌱 For this client, we designed with that flexibility in mind, incorporating their plant preferences and native plant selections. Then we handled site layout and coordinated all plant orders. From there, the client planted everything themselves and brought the design to life.

🌿 Meet the Designer: Teresa

“Ever since childhood, I’ve sketched the world around me… and found joy in taking those ideas and bringing them to life for others to enjoy.”

With nearly 20 years of landscape design experience and a BA in Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Teresa has designed everything from residential landscapes to commercial spaces and public parks across Northwest Indiana.

Her philosophy is simple: no cookie-cutter designs—every space should reflect the people who use it. She also has a strong appreciation for native and environmentally thoughtful plantings, weaving them into designs whenever they support the vision. Thoughtful, creative, and rooted in intentional design, Teresa brings a personal touch to every project.

🌿 Native Plant Highlight: Blazing Star (Liatris)

A favorite in our native plant designs, blazing star adds bold vertical structure to residential landscapes. We use it to create contrast and movement among softer perennials and grasses. In mid-summer, its striking purple blooms bring both color and architectural form to the garden.

It is low-maintenance, pollinator-friendly, and always a strong design element in Northwest Indiana landscapes!

The vision is starting to take shape. 👏

This lakeside hardscape installation is coming together beautifully, with the new paver pathway beginning to stretch right to the water’s edge. Even in progress, you can already see how this space will create the perfect connection between the home and the lake.

Next up: plantings to soften the space and bring in layers of texture, color, and seasonal interest. We can’t wait to show you the finished lakeside retreat.

DID YOU KNOW? 🌧️ Most lawns have shallow roots, so rainwater runs off instead of soaking in. Rain gardens use deep-rooted native plants to help water infiltrate the soil which reduces runoff and supports natural drainage.

This week's chilly, rainy days have us dreaming of sunshine… and poolside moments like this one.

This new construction home in Munster was designed with clean lines, modern aesthetics, and functional outdoor spaces for family enjoyment. The backyard features a thoughtfully placed grill island, comfortable seating, and a seamless flow that enhances both style and usability. A playground provides the perfect space for children to play, making this outdoor area as family friendly as it is sophisticated.
