I'm not one to rant on FB but I (Brandy) cannot let this go. We are seeing more and more of this, and I find it disturbing that local contractors are taking advantage of homeowners this way. We are not in the business to bash other contractors; however, we are in the business to provide quality, honest and fair liquid waste services. We had a realtor contact us at the request of the homeowner after the company the real estate agent had contracted to provide a liquid waste property transfer inspection due to the home selling, failed the drainfield. She wanted us to bid the replacement of the drainfield. Bernard went and looked at the property so he could provide an accurate quote. After looking the system over he called the realtor and requested a copy of the inspection report because he believes the system outlet line may be going uphill or possibly collapsed. After reviewing the inspection report that was provided, we just sat there in disbelief..... Nothing about this report was done right. The first thing Bernard noticed when he went to the property was there was a well. The report states the property is on public water, false. Bernard was pretty sure he knew who originally installed the system, so we requested a permit search from the NMED. On the report they stated they didn't know the original installer.... hmmm on the original permit it shows THEY are the installer..... So did they forget, why didn't they do a permit search so they could have that information... (Everything from the NMED is public information) Long story short, Bernard contacted the realtor and told her about the discrepancies with the report. They decided to meet at the property, and Bernard would walk her through the report/inspection process. After it was all done, water tested the drainfield for 30 minutes, there was NOTHING wrong with the drainfield. It did NOT need replacing. This company gave the realtor a bogus report, failed a drainfield just to obtain a job!!!!!! We filed a report with NMED, saved the homeowner a costly drainfield replacement. Homeowners, be there, ask questions, get a second opinion if something doesn't sit right. Millhouse Septic will always provide you with honest, quality services. We are not about quantity or like in this case "creating a job", we strive for integrity to the best of our ability in everything we do.
