What does the commercial construction process actually look like?
Every successful commercial project starts long before construction begins. While every project is different, most follow these key steps:
1️⃣ Discovery and planning
We learn about your goals, space requirements, timeline, budget, and vision for the finished project.
2️⃣ Site evaluation
The property is reviewed to identify existing conditions, access needs, utility requirements, and any potential challenges.
3️⃣ Design and preconstruction
Plans are developed, materials are selected, costs are reviewed, permits are prepared, and the construction schedule is created.
4️⃣ Construction begins
The project moves into the field. Crews complete site work, structural work, mechanical systems, finishes, and all other planned improvements.
5️⃣ Quality control and inspections
Work is reviewed throughout construction to make sure it meets the approved plans, building codes, and project standards.
6️⃣ Final walkthrough
Before the project is complete, the space is carefully reviewed and any final details are addressed.
7️⃣ Project completion
Once inspections are approved and the final work is complete, the space is ready for its next chapter.
At St. Evans, our goal is to make the process feel organized, transparent, and manageable from the first conversation through the final walkthrough.
