West Central Electric Cooperative's Annual Meeting is coming up Friday, Aug. 28, at the University of Central Missouri Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.

Registration, the meal and information booths open at 5 p.m., with the business meeting beginning at 7 p.m.

Come hear the latest from your cooperative, meet our linemen and learn more about what they do. Plus, every registered member will receive a $25 energy credit and have the chance to win prizes!

Everything requires planning.

Here at West Central Electric Cooperative, we are always looking towards the future and looking at the best way to serve our members. Trimming trees may look messy but we always have a plan. To maintain a reliable system, we look ahead toward the next few years to keep the system in tip top shape. You may see our contractors and right-of-way professionals working in your area to achieve these goals.

WHAT ARE WE DOING NOW?
Currently we have crews working south of Oak Grove and heading toward the Lone Jack area by the end of the year. We also have crews working around Concordia and heading north toward Waverly and Dover by the end of the year.

LOOKING AHEAD:
For 2027 we are pushing toward the Lexington area, then north of Odessa. We will also be working around Centerview and Holden in 2027.

Right-of-way crews are out there every week, working to keep our system reliable so you can rest easy during the worse storms.

Electric cooperatives nationwide partner with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides free books for children birth to age five. Dolly may have left us yesterday, but her amazing program will continue to add to the 332 million+ books gifted around the world.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth until they begin school in participating areas.
