Everyone likes a good deal until it shows up on your roof. 🏠

The lowest quote doesn’t always mean the best value. In roofing, price usually drops when things get skipped, proper underlayment, ventilation, flashing details, even cleanup. And those are the parts you don’t see...until there’s a problem later. 🌧️

A roof isn’t just shingles. It’s a full system working together to protect your home day after day, storm after storm.

When comparing quotes, it’s worth asking:
• What materials are actually being used?
• Is ventilation being handled correctly?
• Are key components being replaced or worked around?
• What kind of warranty backs the work?

At Landmark Roofing, we focus on doing it right the first time. ✔️
No shortcuts. No patch-and-go work. Just solid systems built to last.

We’re part of this community, and we treat every home like it matters, because it does. There’s nothing wrong with being cost-conscious. 💰 Just make sure you’re comparing what’s included, not just the number at the bottom.

Spring rain has a way of pointing things out. 🌦

What held up through winter might not handle steady downpours the same way. Snow and ice can loosen shingles, shift flashing, and leave small entry points you wouldn’t notice on a dry day.

A few things worth keeping an eye on this time of year:
• Dark spots or streaks on ceilings
• Shingles that look slightly out of place
• Granules collecting near downspouts
• Subtle dips or soft spots along the roofline

Rain doesn’t create most problems—it reveals them.

Most storm damage doesn’t look dramatic.

No missing shingles. No obvious leaks. Just small, easy-to-miss issues that quietly turn into bigger problems over time. We put together a breakdown of what storm damage actually looks like, especially the kind most homeowners never notice until it’s too late.

🚨BREAKING: Landmark Roofing is now installing invisible roofs.🚨

No shingles. No flashing. Just open air and confidence.

Early reviews:
• “Didn’t realize it was raining until my couch got involved.”
• “Great for stargazing...from the kitchen.”
• “10/10 airflow, 0/10 protection.”

All jokes aside, storm season is around the corner, and your roof is about to be put to work. If anything looks off up there, now’s the time to pay attention.

March is wrapping up, and storm season is right behind it. Before the first stretch of heavy wind and rain, it’s worth taking a look at your roof from the ground:

• Dark streaks or patches that weren’t there before
• Flashing around chimneys or vents that looks lifted or uneven
• Shingle edges that don’t sit flat or look out of place

These are the spots that tend to fail first once storms start pushing water and wind against your home. Getting familiar with what your roof looks like now makes it easier to notice when something changes.

Roofing companies talk about shingles, measurements, and materials, and so do we. But...we pay attention to what’s underneath it all:

The kids running through the house while work’s getting done, the dog that’s a little too interested in the crew, and the routines that don’t stop just because there’s a project going on overhead.

A home isn’t just a structure to us. It’s where everyday life happens, and we’re stepping into that, even if it’s just for a short time.

That’s why we try to keep things simple, respectful, and real while we’re there.

Because what we’re working on matters...but who we’re working around matters just as much.

3 signs your roof is aging

• Granules showing up where they shouldn’t
If you’re noticing a gritty, sand-like buildup in gutters or near downspouts, that’s the protective layer from your shingles wearing down.

• Shingles losing their shape
Flat and uniform is the goal. If you see curling corners, slight lifting, or sections that don’t sit evenly, the material is starting to break down.

• Color that’s not consistent anymore
Fading, patchiness, or darker streaks can show uneven wear or areas holding moisture longer than they should.

None of this means immediate trouble — just a good reminder to pay attention to what’s overhead from time to time.

Most roofs in the Carolinas go through the same few problems… just at different times.

Take a second and look closely…
It’s easy to miss at first.

That dark patch on the shingles?
That’s not just dirt.

It’s algae growth...and over time, it can:
• Break down your shingles
• Hold moisture against your roof
• Shorten the life of the entire system

It usually starts small like this...then slowly spreads across the roof.

The good news? It’s something that can be handled early before it turns into a bigger issue.

If you’ve noticed anything like this on your roof, we’re always here to take a look and point you in the right direction.

“Why do some roofs look wavy from the street?” 🧐

You’ll see it if you start paying attention...a roofline that looks uneven instead of straight.

That look usually isn’t random.

It can be caused by:
• Aging shingles
• Poor ventilation
• Moisture trapped underneath
• Roof decking starting to weaken

From a distance, it might not seem like much. Up close, it’s often a sign the roof isn’t performing the way it should.

Next time you’re driving through your neighborhood...take a second and look up. 👀

You might start noticing something you’ve probably passed a hundred times without thinking about it...roofs missing a shingle here and there.

It’s one of those small things that doesn’t stand out, until it does.

Around here, our homes go through a lot between storms, wind, and those random weather mood swings North Carolina loves to throw at us. A missing shingle is usually just the first sign that your roof might need some attention.
