Finished off the prep work in this new shower with the new sheet membrane for the shower pan. Tile starts going in next week!

It’s been way too long since I’ve posted, so here’s a floor in an outdoor bathroom that I finished last fall. The existing floor was painted so that needed to be ground off with a diamond cup wheel on my Makita 7” grinder, a new was installed in place of the old plastic floor drain, NXT Level self leveling underlayment was poured to flatten and level the floor, hydroban sheet membrane was installed for crack isolation then the pebbles were single set to eliminate sheet lines. This floor was finished off with Laticrete Spectralock Pro epoxy grout.

This is a handicap accessible curbless shower that I installed utilizing a rapid recess subfloor lowering kit, which is the only product on the market that allows a subfloor to be lowered while adhering to the floor joist manufacturers specifications.

I got to spend some time last month working up in Sun Valley, Idaho with a couple of awesome tile installers on some pretty cool projects. Ben and Bret are an awesome team and it was cool to get to be a part of it even if it was only for a short time!

This almost 20 year old fireplace got a facelift this weekend! I utilized a rendering mortar to plumb and flatten the cinderblock and then installed new porcelain tile and a granite hearth and trim. It took 6 people to maneuver the 500+ lb hearth into place. The transformation on this one is awesome to see!

Here’s some before and after pictures of a shower that I just completed up in Ketchum. Talk about a night and day difference!
