Some people might think we’re making this up, but if you know, you know!
Some of our customers that are on public water have meter pits. The vast majority of meter pits have a built-in dual check valve that prevents water from going back out to the public supply. Over time, the chlorine in the city water degrades the rubber O-rings and as they swell, water flowing past the now oversized loose O-ring can cause vibration that comes through as high-pitched whistling in the water pipes every time you use water in the house. The good news is, it’s a simple fix!
