We had to load support for the porch roof, dismantle the brick-and-concrete porch that was falling apart, rebuild the 6X6 porch deck with a step, remove and replace many spots of rotten fascia board and paint to match, and do some chimney mortar repair work. So what started out as a nightmare for a couple that I got the pleasure of meeting turned out to be a blessing for all of us. After a tree landed on their garage, they called River Valley Builders, and this job ended up being one of the biggest jobs we have done so far. And we gained some great friends in return. They went from a single-story garage/house area to a 2-story garage and addition with double-rafter space, cathedral ceilings, and a mezzanine.
