The Bank of London and South America in Buenos Aires, designed by Clorindo Testa in collaboration with SEPRA Studio, was completed in 1966 and stands as a significant work in the history of Argentine architecture, embodying the Brutalist style. This building is celebrated for its innovative use of reinforced concrete, forming a monumental and sculptural presence in the urban landscape. It challenged traditional architectural forms by integrating the building into the cityscape, creating a continuum between the external city streets and the internal space of the bank, which was conceptualized as a covered public plaza. Clorindo Testa, known for his role in introducing Brutalism to Argentina, brought a unique artistic sensitivity to the project, which is evident in the sculptural treatment of the building's columns and the dynamic interplay of solid and void in its design.
