The Columbia River is a pillar of Oregon’s economy, supporting jobs, and providing about 51% of the Northwest’s supply of electricity.
Recently, the White House announced its creation of the “Columbia River Task force”, which will significantly impact Oregon’s economy and energy infrastructure. The task force is composed exclusively of the unelected bureaucratic environmentalists who do not understand how damaging it would be to destroy hydro-electric generation. The task force's mission is to remove the four Lower Snake River Dams, which is the first step toward removing all hydro-electric generation on the Columbia River.
President Biden’s so called energy agenda continues to damage the American people and weaken national security. Concurrent with the announcement of the task force, the Biden-Harris Administration released a report entitled “Highlighting the historic and Ongoing negative impacts of the Federal Columbia River Dams on tribal communities.” This is part of a concerted effort to deindustrialize the Northwest, drive up power rates, and force rate payers to fund a thinly disgusted progressively driven reparation agenda.
I am working with transportation, electrical generation, navigation and recreation groups to counter this unfortunate attack on our Northwest economy.
