As part of this project, we removed an old satellite dish before installing the new roofing system. Satellite dishes are secured with bolts that pe*****te the roof, and if theyā€™re left in place or improperly removed, those pe*******ons can become future leak points.

Our team safely removed the dish and all mounting hardware, inspected the roof deck, and ensured every pe*******on was properly addressed before installing the new roof. We were honored to be part of a meaningful project for Mr. Alford, a local Air Force veteran whose home was in need of serious help.

Renovation Alliance reached out to us about Mr. Alfordā€™s leaking roof, and our team agreed to help before we ever saw the home. Once Owens Corning heard about the project, they generously stepped in to donate the roofing materials through their Roof Deployment Project.

When our team arrived, the house was so overgrown that we first had to clear a path just to reach the front porch and safely access the roof. From there, we found missing shingles, active leaks, rotted decking, and gutters that were falling apart.

Our Cenvar team got to work replacing the damaged wood and installing a brand-new Owens Corning roofing system, backed by our lifetime workmanship guarantee.

Where the shingles meet a wall, the flashing matters just as much as the shingles.

Step flashing is installed piece by piece with each shingle course to help direct water away from the wall and back onto the roof. If this detail is missed or installed incorrectly, water can work its way behind the siding and into the home.

Itā€™s one of those details you may never notice from the ground, but it plays a big role in keeping the roof watertight.

Proper installation ofĀ ice and water shield above guttersĀ is critical, especially where oneĀ roof slope drains onto a lower roof section. These high-water-flow areas are more vulnerable to ice dams, wind-driven rain, and water backup. Extending the ice and water shield beyond the eaves and into roof transition areas helps create a watertight barrier that protects your home from leaks and costly water damage.
