Studio Z represents the combination of experience, creative insight, technology,
environmental responsibility, and a sincere passion for the practice of
architecture. Our approach to design places an emphasis on enhanced design
communication using new Building Information Model (BIM) software to
improve the collaboration between architect, design team and client. This is a
fundamental i
mprovement to the process of making critical design decisions,
resulting in better buildings that save energy costs month after month. We view
design quality as an asset that pays dividends over the entire life of the building

History
After completing his professional degree in 1981, firm founder; Patrick Zampetti,
began his career at the New York City office of Perkins and Will. Over the
next 12 years, he gained experience with projects ranging from large medical
facilities to residential additions. He founded Studio Z Architecture in Newport,
RI in 1993 and relocated to Virginia in 1995 where he served as Manager of
Design, creating store prototypes for Fortune 500 member, Circuit City Stores,
Inc. Studio Z is celebrating their 18th anniversary in 2011 with an eye towards the future and their role in providing value-added, sustainable design solutions. Professional Affiliation
Studio Z Architecture, Inc is licensed and insured and is a professional member
of the Richmond Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. They are
certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards for
nationwide reciprocity of license and are staffed by a team of LEED Accredited
Professionals. Studio Z Architecture is also a professional member of the United
States Green Building Council and is SWaM certified as a Small Business by
Virginia’s Department of Minority Business Enterprise
