Would it really be a Friday afternoon if Chimspector didn’t show off a transformation?

This one came to us as a moisture problem. Two open flues, a crown that had seen better days, and water finding its way inside. We soft washed the stack, sealed the crown, applied a breathable water repellent, and finished it with a full-coverage hip and ridge cap in black powder coat.

Happy Birthday, Bob!

If you’ve ever stopped by our showroom, chances are you’ve had the pleasure of meeting Bob. Every morning at Chimspector starts with him. He gets the stoves going, the goats fed and the shelves in order before most of us are through the door.

Bob is Drew’s dad, but around here he’s a father to all of us. He’s the glue that holds this place together, and we’re so thankful for everything he does, day in and day out.

Full coverage cap, installed and ready for the season.

Most chimneys have nothing more than a small cover over the flue, which leaves the crown and the brick exposed to the weather year round. A full coverage cap sits over the entire top of the chimney, so rain, leaves and animals stay out and the masonry underneath stays dry.

This one is a hip and ridge shape finished in a penny vein copper powdercoat. It does more than protect, it finishes the chimney off and sharpens the look of the whole home.

When it comes to your fireplace and chimney, safety should never be a shortcut.

This week, we’re sharing a powerful review from Doug McClure in Columbia. His family uses their fireplace often, so making sure it’s safe is a top priority.

Doug shared:

The mornings have turned cool across the Carolinas. That first chill is the reminder every year that fireplace season is closer than it feels.

Our schedule is already filling up, and it happens fast this time of year. Once the cold really sets in, we are booking weeks out.
