Brothers and Sisters in Christ I have been made aware that there is a new religion that has been amongst us since the time of Adam and Eve, and that religion is the religion of self. Though it is good to be aware of one's own self, to love one's own self and to build self character, this is actually the lowest form of spiritual growth. The highest form of spiritual growth is when you can deny one's self and pick up the cross of Christ Jesus and ascend to a level of spiritual consciousness and understanding, so that when your self tells you something is good that actually isn;t, you can have spiritual descernment to know where that thought originated. If the lower form of self is not checked, it will feed itself into becoming, self-centered, selfish, self conceit, and ultimately a loss of self control. Self is simply flesh and the flesh is wicked continuosly. Help us Lord for we have all come short of your glory. But, because of your grace and mercy and the giving of the life of, and the resurection on the third day of your Son Jesus, all can obtain grace, mercy, and salvation. Thank you Heavenly Father for who you are and all that you have already done, which is still manifesting in the lives of my family, my wife's family, and all of our friends and their families. We are grateful and even though it doesn't always show, we are just glad that you know us in our hearts and have still called and chosen us according to your purpose in our lives.
