Structural railings in commercial environments are engineered elements, not decorative ones. IBC code requirements define minimum post spacing, top rail height, infill panel load requirements, and connection to structure. These are not guidelines. They are minimums that the installation must meet or exceed.

Beyond code compliance, railing systems have to perform in real conditions: repeated loading, thermal movement, weathering, and in high-traffic areas, constant contact from users. Materials, connections, and finishes all affect the system's performance over time. 🔩
