On Tuesday, August 4th, David Boyd, our foreman, was doing something completely ordinary—looking at a potential project for work in downtown Helena, Montana.
As David walked back to his truck on Last Chance Gulch between 14th and 15th Avenue, a white van pulled over. Two to three strangers got out and attacked him without warning, in broad daylight.
David did not know his attackers. He had done nothing to provoke them. In a matter of moments, an ordinary workday turned into something no one should ever have to experience.
The attack left David with severe injuries to his face and jaw, including multiple broken bones. He now faces multiple surgeries and a long, painful recovery. His medical needs are still unfolding, and it may be some time before David is able to return to the life and work, he knew before that day.
For those who know David and his wife, Jeanice, you know they are not people who would ever want to ask for help. They are kind, quiet, hardworking people who care deeply about their community. But right now, they need people to rally around them.
David should be able to focus on healing—not on how the medical bills will be paid, how much work he will miss, or how they will manage the travel, appointments, and countless unexpected expenses that come with a traumatic event like this.
That is why we are asking our friends, coworkers, neighbors, and the Helena community to help carry some of that burden for David and Jeanice.
Every donation, no matter the amount, can make a real difference. It can help with medical expenses, lost income, travel for treatment, and the everyday costs that don't stop simply because tragedy strikes.
David went to work that Tuesday expecting to come home like any other day. Instead, his and Jeanice's lives were changed in an instant.
Let's show them that while this act of violence was random, the kindness that follows it doesn't have to be.
If you are able, please consider donating to help David through the long road ahead. If you can't donate, sharing this fundraiser can be just as meaningful and may help it reach someone who can.
Thank you for standing with David and Jeanice and reminding them that they don't have to face this recovery alone.
