• Stand close to the object using a wide stance.
• When possible, face in the direction that you intend to carry the object.
• Bend your knees (not your waist) and lower yourself to the object.
• Grip the object securely, keeping the object as close to your body as possible.
• Keeping your back and arms straight, lift the object by straightening your legs.
