Memorial Day is not a celebration. It is a remembrance.

Today we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country. Many of the people who build America's infrastructure are veterans. At Summit Line, we are proud to have them on our team.

But today belongs to the ones who did not come home. We remember and honor them.

Construction workers are six times more likely to die by su***de than from workplace accidents.

Summit Line Construction is participating in the MATES in Construction North America pilot, an industry-backed su***de prevention and mental health program. MATES trains workers to look out for each other's mental health the same way they look out for each other's physical safety.

Quanta Services is the founding industry partner. The program has operated in Australia and New Zealand since 2008 and is now expanding to Noarth American worksites.

May is Mental Health Month. This work belongs in the culture of every jobsite, not just a single month on the calendar.

Hiring is hard. Retention is harder.

We asked our team what makes them want to stay at Summit Line. Not what brought them here, but what keeps them here. Their answers came through a confidential employee survey, the same one behind our three Top Workplaces awards.

Greg Stredick joined Summit Line last June as a Safety Advisor in Arizona. Within a year he earned his Red Hard Hat, got promoted to Site Safety Manager, and is now building the safety framework for Summit Line’s first data center project in the Mission Critical division.

Ask Greg what drives him and the answer always comes back to the same place:
“I focus not only on safety performance but also on helping team members grow by sharing knowledge, mentoring, and supporting their development in the field.”

On what makes safety real instead of procedural:
“When people understand the why and feel supported, they take ownership of it.”

Greg chose integrity as the value that resonates most with him because trust is the foundation everything else gets built on.

“Being involved in the first data center project is exciting because it gives us the opportunity to build strong safety systems and develop teams that will support future projects.”

From new Safety Advisor to building safety infrastructure for one of Summit Line’s newest lines of work. That’s what growth looks like here.

Before the lights come on, someone climbs the pole. Before the substation powers up, someone wires it. Before the transmission line carries its first load, someone strings it and makes sure it will hold.

That is the work of a lineman.

And a subtech. And an operator. And a fabricator. And a groundman.

Summit Line's crews build electrical infrastructure across the western U.S. in conditions most people will never see and everyone depends on. The training takes years. The commitment to safety is built into the craft, not bolted on.

Today is National Lineman Appreciation Day. To our crews: you are the reason this company exists. Thank you.

We asked our team: would you recommend Summit Line to someone looking for work?

These are real, unscripted responses from a confidential employee survey. The same survey that earned Summit Line three Top Workplaces awards in the past year.

We’re hiring across the western U.S. If you’re looking for a place where the people doing the work actually want to be there, we’d like to hear from you. Link in bio.

Summit Line is at the MFRC Career Expo at Luke Air Force Base today.

Andrea Anderson came to Summit Line through the DoD SkillBridge program and is now a full-time member of the team. Today she is at the expo alongside Project Manager Jakob Commerford, helping other transitioning service members explore the same path.

Desmond Gordon joined Summit Line in October 2024 as a Safety Advisor. Within months, he earned his Red Hard Hat and was promoted to Safety Manager.

His approach to safety is built on something he learned in the field:
“My role is to build, not police. I want the crews to have the courage to speak up, think ahead, and be accountable.”

What made Summit Line the right fit for Desmond was watching how leadership treats safety—not as a policy exercise, but as the foundation for how teams work together.

“When people feel empowered to speak up, to make decisions, to take ownership—everything else falls into place.”

He describes the people here as hardworking, skilled, and genuinely committed to each other. A group that takes pride in their craft and looks out for the person next to them.

The red hard hat is where that journey started. His promotion to Safety Manager tells you where it’s going.
