This mulberry was removed today after it was uprooted in yesterday’s strong winds. The tree was leaning against the structure and did some damage to the side of the building. After the tree was down, I took a picture looking towards downtown Hays.

These are the pictures of the widow maker I mentioned on the last post. If you look at the center of the canopy you will see a lateral limb stuck in the tree that is completely detached.
I also added pictures of a tree I was just called out on. The mulberry uprooted in this wind and is being supported by the building.

Today’s wind has the trees in my neighborhood whipping around. After this wind passes, make sure to check your trees for any broken limbs stuck inside the canopy. Those limbs are called widow makers and can be very dangerous if someone is under them when they fall. Facebook won’t let me post pictures with the video of the widow maker inside the canopy of the locust tree in this video. I will upload them in the next post.
