🤔 What's the strangest place you've ever seen an electrical outlet?

We came across this receptacle mounted in the middle of a foundation wall with seemingly nothing around it. Every outlet has a story... but this one definitely made us stop and ask, "Why?"

🚨 Would you trust this outlet behind your electric fireplace?

This receptacle was wired using the backstab connections on the back of the outlet. While they're allowed in some applications, we frequently find they can develop loose connections over time, especially on circuits with heavier or continuous loads.

Loose electrical connections create resistance.
Resistance creates heat.
Heat can eventually damage the outlet and in some cases become a fire hazard.

For this repair we:
✔ Replaced the worn receptacle
✔ Pigtailed the wiring
✔ Used the side terminal screws for a stronger, more reliable connection
