Bernard Workday, Sun 6/27 !
Join us to continue work on clearing Bernard Peak Trail this Sunday. We are working hard to clear this trail after the fires from a few years ago. We had our youth crew out there 2 years ago clearing and doing some dirt work, and did a workday out there last year. It’s been a rough winter for trails with the windstorms this year and need another workday to clear the trail for this season.
We are planning to have 3 groups. One group will pedal from the bottom with a sawyer or two. Those who aren’t sawyers can bring hand saws, trailbosses or packable dirt tools. The other two groups will drive to the top and hike down. One will be a group of sawyers cutting trees. The second group will be following up and clearing the logs and branches and doing some dirt work to fix root holes. Again, bring hand saws and dirt tools if you have them.
