Started a small project in Hayden today for a homeowner who recently moved into her new build. Some of the worst drywall work I’ve seen in a long time — visible butt joints, dozens of screw pops, scratches and bulges everywhere. She’s frustrated, and I don’t blame her. We are gonna go in and do our best to repair the drywall & texture and give it a fresh coat of primer and paint...make it look like it should've from the get-go

If your new home doesn’t feel new — and you’re dealing with fixes, touch‑ups, the things your builder didn’t finish, or the things you wanted but didn’t get — we can help.

Quite a transformation at our Hayden remodel. The old Hickory floors and dated fireplace are gone and replaced with 10" White Oak, Casa Blanca stone and a new linear gas fieplace. Just need to complete the TV mount and we can call it done!

I think it looks amazing, the whole space feels brighter, cleaner and completely updated

Huge thanks to CR Floors , Quality Stove and Pyramid Masonry. You guys did a great job

Most people wanting to build or remodel don’t realize this…
If you hand your plans to a bunch of trades and ask for bids, you’ll get wildly different prices — because every contractor is bidding their own interpretation of your home.

That’s how homeowners end up with:

Missing details

Missing materials

Missing structural elements

And a stack of change orders and headaches later

Plans alone don’t protect your build or your budget.

A real builder creates a Scope of Work for every trade — exact quantities, materials, installation standards, and expectations — so every bid comes back apples to apples.

Accurate scopes = accurate bids.
Accurate bids = fewer surprises.
Fewer surprises = a smoother build.

This is why my process works.

Quick little job this week. Added in a new 6x6 post and bearing point to carry a floor beam in a customer's basement in CDA. We still handle the smaller jobs too. If you've got a project, big or small, we're here!!!

Our Hayden remodel is making progress. Drywall up and being finished. 72" gas fireplace set and ready for mantel and stone. Once the rough cut Casa Blanca stone is up this fireplace is going to look incredible!

I’ve been in the building industry for 25 years, and I’ve seen a lot of new products and systems promising cheaper, better, and faster builds. Some truly help. Some are just great marketing. Some save time and money, and others end up just costing more in the long run.

I am really curious to hear from the builders and tradespeople out there — what’s one newer product or process you’ve found genuinely helpful and effective or.... what’s one traditional method you still rely on because it simply works?

Looking for honest, professional insight only — no debates or BS arguments. BTW happy Labor day!!

If you’re planning to build a custom home next spring or summer, you should be starting the process soon.

Thoughtful planning takes time — plans, engineering, design, budgeting, and permitting often span 4-6 months. Using the fall and winter to prepare isn’t just smart; it’s what allows a high‑quality build to move efficiently once you do start.

I’m currently scheduling 2027 custom builds. If you’re ready to begin the pre‑construction process, I can help you get everything dialed in this fall & winter, so your project is positioned for a clean start next year.

The first phase of building or remodeling your home should start long before any groundbreaking or demo.

Well before physical work begins, there’s a critical amount of planning that protects your budget, timeline, and sanity.

Here’s what should happen before anyone shows up to work:

Zoning & jurisdiction review — setbacks, permit fees, timelines, and local requirements

Utilities- Septic, power, gas, water... planning & design

Budget + design clarity — finishes, scope, and selections defined early to avoid change orders

Material takeoffs — accurate counts to prevent delays and cost spikes

Subcontractor scheduling — aligning scopes and timelines with every trade

Funding alignment — making sure financing matches the build or remodel schedule

Proper contracts & scopes — clear expectations, responsibilities, and costs from day one.

Whether it’s a new build or a remodel, the initial planning matters.

Start with a contractor who handles the details early, protects your investment, and keeps your project moving in the right direction from the start.

“Figuring it out later” becomes a disaster more often than not.

Guys are moving right along with this ADU frame in Post Falls. Funny how the "smaller" jobs sometimes end up being the trickiest and most technical, but Seth and Issac are getting it done!
