TEREMARK Electrical Group provides installation and service of electrical equipment and components as a licensed, insured and bonded electrical contractor with primary focus on energy efficiency products and secondary focus on typical electrical contractor services. Primary products are lighting retrofits from legacy lighting (HID, fluorescent, incandescent) to LED to include controls, HVAC efficiency controls, Solar installations and Infrared Thermography. In response to this climate, TEREMARK Electrical Group offers services which are somewhat complex and often overlooked and unnoticed by average electrical contractors who are primarily focused on new construction and service.

Ask the Electrician ⚡️ Is it okay to plug a power strip into another power strip?

Short answer: No.

It might seem like an easy solution when you’ve run out of outlets, but plugging one power strip into another, sometimes called “daisy chaining,” can create an electrical and fire hazard.

Power strips have limits on how much electrical load they’re designed to handle. Connecting multiple strips together can make it easier to overload the original strip or the circuit, especially when you start plugging in higher-powered devices.

And a good rule to remember: power strips create more places to plug things in. They don’t create more electrical capacity.

If you constantly find yourself reaching for extra power strips or extension cords because your home doesn’t have enough outlets where you need them, that may be a sign it’s time to talk about adding properly located outlets or evaluating whether your existing circuits can handle your needs.

Your home should work for the way you actually live in it, without having to rely on unsafe workarounds.

You might notice our uniforms look a little different on this job site. There’s a reason for that. ⚡️

For the C&S Automotive | Local Auto Mechanic Shop new shop build, our team is required to wear high-visibility clothing. When we had ours printed, we chose two words very intentionally: SAFETY LEADER.

Because we don’t want our employees to simply follow safety requirements. We want every person on our team to take the lead when it comes to safety.

That means looking out for themselves and each other. Paying attention to what’s happening around the job site. Speaking up when something doesn’t look right. And thinking beyond today’s work to the safety of the people who will eventually work in, visit, and rely on this building every day.

This is a big project for our team, and one we don’t take lightly. C&S Automotive has trusted TEREMARK Electrical Group to help bring their vision for this new shop to life, and with that trust comes a responsibility to do things the right way from start to finish.

Safety isn’t just a requirement on our job sites. It’s a standard we expect our team to lead.

Ask the Electrician ⚡️ Can I add more outlets without rewiring my entire house?

Good news! In many cases, YES.

Maybe you’re tired of unplugging the coffee maker to use the toaster. You’ve got extension cords running behind the couch, or you’re remodeling a room and realizing you could really use a few more outlets.

The good news is that adding outlets doesn’t automatically mean tearing into your entire home’s electrical system.

But before we start installing, there are a few things we need to look at: the condition of your existing wiring, how much electrical load the circuit is already carrying, and whether the new outlets can safely be added to that circuit.
