This one landed on me mid-service today.

Mosquito season doesn’t end when summer does. Warm nights and humidity keep them breeding and biting deep into fall around here.

Standing water is the whole game. Plant saucers, clogged gutters, a forgotten bucket, a tarp with a dip in it. They need about a bottle cap’s worth of water and a week.

Walk your yard this weekend and dump anything holding water.

Anyone can spray a baseboard. The work is finding out where they’re actually living.

Under the dishwasher is one of the first places I look in a kitchen. Warm, damp, dark, and there’s a gap in the toe kick nobody sees.

If nobody got on the floor with a flashlight, the treatment is a guess.

Three paper wasp nests, two stories up.

Pole and scraper from the ground. No ladder, no lift, no add-on charge for equipment.

Those white caps in the last photo are pupae. Leave the nest up and that's the next wave.

Look at where the line runs. Along the seam, not across the open floor.

Ants navigate by edges and scent. One scout finds food, walks home along the wall line, and the rest follow. So the trail is a map back to the source.

Spray it and you kill what you can see and erase the map. The colony stays put and a new line shows up a week later.

Follow the trail. Treat the source with a non-repellent. Seal the gap. Write down what you found and what you used, so the next visit can prove it worked.

Most people look at this board and see a number. The number is the least useful thing on it.

Look at which edge they came in from. Captures on one side mean the harborage is on that side, usually within a few feet. Nymphs that small have not traveled far from where they hatched.

That is the difference between treating a room and treating a void.

Anyone can set a trap. Setting it where the rodent already walks is the job.

Rodents move along edges. They do not cross open floor if they can help it. So, the trap goes flush against the wall with the trigger sitting in the runway, tucked behind the equipment they are already using for cover.

Move that same trap six inches out and it sits untouched for a week.

The trap did not solve this. Knowing where to put it did.

Rain is moving through Southern California. The pest calls come after it stops.

Water floods the voids they live in. Ants get pushed out of the ground. Spiders rebuild along the eaves. Roaches and rodents look for the driest warm space nearby, which is usually the building.

It hits about three to seven days after the storm. That is the window to treat.

Get it on the calendar now instead of taking the callback in two weeks.

A well-kept garden is great. An overgrown one is a disaster waiting to happen. 🌿

Dense, untouched vegetation is prime harborage for rodents and insects. The longer it goes unmanaged, the harder it is to actually see what’s living in it. Regular landscaping isn’t just curb appeal, it’s pest prevention.
