Part of the ethos of who we are at Buildstream is the heartbeat of doing things the right way. There are details in this flip that we could have skipped over. For us, it’s less about the money and more about the ending product. It’s about the family that will one day live here, cooking dinner, sitting by the fire. It’s about adequate storage. But it’s also about the details and craftsmanship that take a space from done to “wow.” Craftsman trim is in the works on this custom vent hood and convertible butler’s pantry (with a built-in coffee bar, to boot)! It’s the details that matter. Details are what makes a house a home. What is your favorite part of these in progress update pictures?!

But we think it’s safe to say that no one else finds creative solutions like we do, and no one else starts their day loading materials in matching cowboy hats. “Cowboy contractors” just became a thing. Gathering is so important. In our current world, its something we have found we long and ache for...to be around people we care about, to share a meal with friends, to sit and walk through the ebbs and flows of life with our close circle. If COVID has done anything, it has reminded us of the sweetness in community and how the home—YOUR home—is often where that magic typically happens. Here are a couple of process photos of a two tier roof line extension for an outdoor living space for some pretty special folks to us. Yes, there were tons of logistics on this project that required consideration—roof lines, view preservation, cypress posts, tricked out custom cypress trim, v-groove gorman spruce specialty ceiling work, and more. But the coolest thing about this project was dreaming with this family in all the ways this space will serve as a centerpiece to gather together, to serve and bless others, and to create opportunities for quality time they will remember forever.
