Today we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. This Memorial Day, we remember and give thanks to our nation's greatest heroes. 🇺🇸

In observance, please note that our offices will be closing at 1pm, and will reopen for our regular business hours tomorrow morning.

Happy , friends! Being a holiday weekend, we have some special announcements to share for our on-island guests.

📅Office Hours:
Our offices will be closing at 1pm on Memorial Day (Monday) so that our team can observe the holiday with their loved ones. Our normal office hours will resume on Tuesday.

🗑️Trash Collection Holiday Schedule:
There will be NO changes to trash collection, so please put your cans out accordingly (see below for the pick-up schedule).

*Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras: Monday, Thursday
*Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon: Tuesday, Friday

🌊Swim Safety:
Lifeguarded beaches are staffed starting this weekend and continuing through Labor Day. Lifeguards are on duty from 9am-5pm at THREE locations on Hatteras Island:

1. Rodanthe Beach Access (23732 N.C. Highway 12, Rodanthe)
2. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Beach Access (Adjacent to the former site of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse)
3. Frisco Bath Houses (South end of Frisco)

*We encourage all of our guests to sign up for swim safety alerts from Outer Banks lifeguards, ocean rescue agencies and the National Weather Service by texting OBXBeachConditions to 77295.

🎉Things to Do:
Hatteras Island is blossoming with things to do this week! Please visit our event calendar (below) and as always, we encourage our guests to take the time to explore the ends and outs of the island. Buxton Village Books and Sticky Bottom Produce in Hatteras Village have both just reopened this week for the season, galleries and shops have tons to see, and local eateries are sharing new and exciting specials daily, so hop on the sidewalk or pile into the car and EXPLORE!

Join Ketch 55 and KEL Entertainment and Productions every Saturday night from 10pm – 1:30am for an energetic evening of music and entertainment, featuring live sets by DJ Kel.
