It was window weekend at The Station at Market !
These were boarded up for decades and we had no idea the old frames were still there for 2 of the 3 windows. Sadly they were too damaged to reuse.

Here is my long overdue post about our big undertaking! Many of you have heard about this, but here is a peak at our progress.

Located at 11 Market St, Hatfield. (The old train station)

My wife Rebecca Cox and I (mostly my wife) will be opening a coffee shop/ retail store where she will sell baked goods (with regular, gf and vegan options) and a mix of locally made items like pottery ,candles etc. There will also be a kids area with lots of books. We hope to host events on the property from kids craft workshops, to pet adoptions, to farmers markets.

There has been A LOT of work getting to this point, but most of it has been things like wiring, framing, demo, settling on layout and placement, plumbing, permits, ect. Now that we are rounding a corner and starting to get some spackle and paint up, it is starting to take shape. I will be posting about this ongoing project frequently as we tackle some of the finishes.

This was a fun but tedious project for us! This master bedroom as well as the master bath were single color for the walls and ceiling. We painted both rooms and the hallway between them with a shade of green for the walls and white ceilings. We also did the double box panel trim in the bedroom and hallway. This was over 300 individual pieces!
This project turned out great and looking forward to doing more of this kind of finish work in the future!

Took advantage of some nice spring days to tackle some outdoor projects! In addition to the garden kit assembly, we also replaced all the shutters on the house and reset several small landscape walls. It felt good to work outside while it was nice out!

This was a great project! The old bathroom layout was a Jack and Jill style, with two entry doors. We closed up the door from the bedroom and removed the wall between the sink area and the rest of the bathroom. We then moved all the plumbing in order to relocate the vanity, toilet, and shower. We redid most of the electric to add a vent fan, ceiling lights, and additional vanity lights. The closet was redone and finished off with a bifold barn door!
This is still primarily a kids bathroom, so the vinyl floor, and acrylic shower insert will take a beating and will be easy to maintain. Moving everything made this room much more usable and spacious!

In typical fashion, I forgot to take "before" pictures of this one.
The water heater had been slowly leaking for quite some time before it burst open. The unit was in a cubby hole covered with an access panel, so nobody was aware of any issue until it flooded the living space. Mold had been growing within the walls and under the flooring.
We cut open the walls to remediate the mold issue. A new water heater was installed (not by us). We reconstructed the cubby to connect with the furnace space and put in larger bifold doors for easier access and visibility. We ended up painting one bedroom, laundry room, hallway, living room, and kitchen. We replaced both carpet and sheet vinyl with new vinyl plank and all new baseboards throughout.

Quick job replacing some basement steps. The old set was rotting away and was no longer attached to the wall. These will allow for a safe move-in day!

This was the final phase of this long running project. We had previously reconfigured the lower cabinets and island to make space for a 40" oven. This latest portion included removing the microwave and upper cabinets, building a custom hood vent and installing a vent insert. We went through other upper cabinets in order to vent outside. We then filled in the backsplash with a very nice tile accent to wrap everything up!

This looks great, and we are very happy to put the finishing touches on this project!
