Based on surveillance data supplied to the district, adult mosquito populations, and an increased West Nile risk, We will be conducting Adulticide applications in the village of Orland Park at SELECT LOCATIONS. They are as follows.

Route 45 on the west. Harlem avenue on the east end. 151st street on the south and the village boundaries on the north. This includes all village areas in that quadrant. High tension wires and walking paths included. The treatment will start at 745pm and commence at midnight. NO FOREST PRESERVE AREAS WILL BE TREATED. More information available at www.Sccmad.org. 🚨NEW TEAM MEMBER🚨

We are pleased to welcome Rebecca Smith, DVM, PhD, to the South Cook County Mosquito Abatement District team. Dr. Smith is an infectious disease epidemiologist working with SCCMAD through CDC-supported efforts and the Midwest Center of Excellence for Vector-Borne Diseases. She brings expertise in disease surveillance, modeling, and forecasting of West Nile virus and tick-borne diseases, helping turn data into practical strategies that strengthen mosquito control efforts and protect public health across South Cook County.
