📣 40 YEARS. NO LEAKS. NOT TORN OFF. RENEWED.

This SPF roof has been in service for approximately 40 years—and the building owner still wasn’t experiencing leaks.

💪That’s a roofing story worth telling💪
After decades of service, infrequent maintenance, accumulated debris, and surrounding foliage had taken a toll on the protective coating. Had the roof been routinely cleaned, inspected, and recoated when needed, this project likely could have been limited to minor repairs and a recoat.

But even after 40 years, the answer wasn’t automatically tear-off and replacement.

We scarified the existing SPF system to remove the deteriorated surface, selectively removed areas that required deeper repair, cleaned and prepared the remaining roof, and primed the prepared surfaces. Then we rebuilt it.

The renewed system uses Everest Coatings Systems Eversol 3.0 Spray Foam with Silkoxy H3-EZ high-solids silicone coating as part of a 20-year system.

That’s one of the advantages of a properly installed SPF roof that doesn’t get talked about enough: The end of one service cycle doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the roof.

This roof already gave the building approximately four decades of service. Instead of sending the entire assembly to a landfill, we were able to work with what was there and renew it for its next service cycle.

40 years. No reported leaks. And instead of being torn off, it was renewed.

That’s not a roofing failure. That’s what long-term roof performance looks like.

When it comes to well site secondary containment, there is no room for compromise. Soil protection, chemical containment, and operational speed are critical. For this project in SE Ohio, we deployed a heavy-duty, seamless polyurea membrane system paired with a high-adhesion primer and felt layer. Here is why this combination changes the game for oilfield and well containment:

⚡ Seconds to Cure - rapid return-to-service means heavy machinery was back up and running on the pad almost immediately.
🔷 Monolithic Barrier - completely seamless protection around complex pipe penetrations and concrete bases - eliminating structural weld failures.
💪 Elite Flexibility - extreme tensile strength allows the liner to flex with heavy vehicle traffic and ground shifting without cracking.
🔒 Chemical Lock - total resistance to crude oil, produced water, and drilling fluids.

The primer creates an unbreakable bond with the substrate, blocking moisture and preventing pinholes before the polyurea is sprayed. The result? A bulletproof containment system built to withstand the harshest field conditions and LAST!

The StrataSpray Team had an amazing opportunity to provide internal spray-foam insulation and a protective intumescent paint coating to ensure longevity, proper temperature control, and fire-retardant measures for the city's main water tower.

A special equipment highlight goes out to Graco , as we utilized their AP Fusion spray gun to spray both the polyurethane foam insulation and subsequently the intumescent paint coating.
