A very successful fundraising event at Culver’s in Hartland tonight. Proceeds donated to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Many rocksteady boxers from the WAC Lake Country attended. We are looking forward to Moving to Day Milwaukee on May 18 in Hart Park in Wauwatosa! Please consider donating, signing up to walk, volunteering, etc. if you have not already!

An endearing story from this evening…a woman that I did not know came up to our table and announced that she was thankful that we were having this Parkinson’s fundraiser. Her husband was out of town and she was driving back home. She had felt compelled to stop for some reason at Culver’s she had no idea this event was going on. She announced that she did not want to ruin our evening (we were at a booth eating our meal with another couple) and shared that her son had early onset pd. He passed away a few months ago. She was so overwhelmed and happy that she had stopped “it was meant to be.“ She shook my hand (i should have given her a hug) as she walked away with tears in her eyes.

The majority of the evening, several of us welcomed customers at the main entrance, opening the door for them, and letting them know that April was Parkinson’s awareness month, and that they should “buy extra custard to the support a great cause!” 🙂. One of those customers came out with a $50 gift card and gave it to Ginny and Mike—-stating dinner was on him.
