JCJ Architecture

JCJ Architecture JCJ Architecture is a nationally-recognized planning, architecture and interior design leader.

Since 1936, JCJ Architecture has built a practice on the union of business and art; an integration that combines our rigorous methods of management, the high standards of design and execution our projects achieve, and the kind of service our clients require and deserve. To be of service and value to our clients, we have developed a keen understanding of their respective businesses, of the challeng

es they face, and of their aspirations. We approach each project with extensive knowledge of its context and purpose, and with open and inquiring minds. Our experience does not give us predetermined answers—it enables us to ask the right questions. JCJ Architecture's teams of specialists focus on certain project types and execute them exceptionally well. Each of our core markets – education, hospitality, mixed-use, public safety, corporate, performing arts, -- is led by a nationally-renowned director supported by a depth of knowledge within our studios that allows us to provide focused expertise across the country. JCJ has launched a WELL-Environment Strategies Team, which will focus on implementing the WELL Building Standard®, the first protocol of its kind to focus on the health and wellness of occupants within the built environment. This standard identifies specific design strategies, performance targets, and operational policies that can enhance health and well-being when holistically integrated into building architecture and design. This team is led by three of the world's first Provisional WELL APs, professionally trained at the Cleveland Clinic.

Studio Leader Spotlight

We created the Studio Leader role at JCJ ARCHITECTURE to provide more direct leadership for people in all our offices — a critical bridge between individual career growth and the broader success of the firm. We felt it was important that every member of the firm have access to a leader who could help guide professional development and strengthen communication between staff and senior leadership. By building trust and gaining a deep understanding of each individual’s goals, strengths, and development areas, they are able to thoughtfully align people with the right teams and opportunities.

A strong Studio Leader creates an environment where people feel heard, respected, valued, and genuinely supported while building trust that fuels collaboration, creativity, and personal growth. By advocating for their team and fostering meaningful connections between the office and the larger firm, they cultivate a culture where people are invested in one another and inspired to consistently do their best work.

Many thanks to each of our Studio Leaders for their daily contributions to growth and development at JCJ! Christine Leary, Jim Ryan, Christine Faverio, Alison DiVenere, Jordan Kazmierczak, Fawn Pellegrini, Sean Pendley, Allie Guthridge, Erika Lara, Kyla Hall, Emma Plagemann, Daniel Thornton

JCJ has had the honor of contributing to many significant projects across a broad spectrum of typologies, from high energy environments and spaces that inspire creativity, to places that bring people and communities together. Our Las Vegas team thrives in meeting the exacting needs of the Las Vegas marketplace, and we believe our practice is fundamentally defined by using design as a tool to generate possibilities and promote connection.

This week, as we continue reflect on 90 years of practice, we want to acknowledge the incredible dedication of the JCJ team leading one of the most important and impactful projects in our history: the Las Vegas Forever One Memorial.

When the call went out for concepts to create a Memorial to honor the victims who perished in the immediate aftermath of events that occurred at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, our Las Vegas team felt compelled to answer that call. Our journey through the early design process brought our team into direct contact with stakeholders - survivors, families and friends of victims, community members, first responders and civic leaders; our team became their advocates and developed a design response based on healing, remembrance and connection for the lives lost and lives impacted. After our team’s proposal was selected, this group continued to work through the design advocacy process.

It has been our great honor to serve on this project. While JCJ has team members across the firm who have contributed, this design journey has been deeply personal for JCJ's Las Vegas residents Mike Larson and Derek Sola. As final design for Forever One comes into full focus, and as we approach a groundbreaking that will enable opening the Memorial to mark the 10th-year remembrance, we celebrate this team’s contribution, tenacity and abiding sense of purpose.

ESOP Committee Spotlight

As we celebrate 90 years of JCJ, we’re recognizing the people who help shape the culture behind our work every day.

Our ESOP Committee brings together employee-owners from across offices who are passionate about connection, collaboration, and creating opportunities for teams to engage beyond project work. From office traditions and pop-up celebrations to team outings and Office Olympics, these moments help strengthen the relationships that support our culture and the way we work together.

Their dedication reflects what employee ownership means at JCJ: shared pride, shared responsibility, and a collective investment in each other’s success.

Thank you to all our ESOP Committee members for the energy, creativity, and time you bring to making JCJ such a special place to work!

What a wonderful week had at Hospitality Design | HD Expo in Las Vegas! Thank you to our dedicated team members and partners who were able to make this inspiring and educational week possible. And thank you Megan L. for this inspiring recap:

"One of the best parts of this industry is getting to come together, and this week was a great reminder of that. Team members from several of our offices traveled in to connect, explore, collaborate, and soak up all the inspiration the show had to offer.

From innovative products and beautifully designed spaces to meaningful conversations with talented people across the industry, we left energized (and yes… completely exhausted). There’s something special about seeing creativity, craftsmanship, and hospitality design all under one roof.

A huge thank you to our incredible vendor partners for the conversations, collaborations, and hospitality throughout the week. We’re grateful for the relationships that continue to inspire and support our work every day.

Now it’s time to unpack, catch up on sleep, and start turning inspiration into ideas."

As part of our 90th anniversary celebration, we’re proud to spotlight our New York City office and the daily journeys that help shape the way our team thinks, designs, and creates.

What makes New York unique is not just the city itself, but how people arrive here. Our team commutes from all directions, each route offering a different perspective and rhythm. As JCJ’s Enrique Bejarano shared, “It’s not about getting from A to B, it’s about getting connected to the rhythm of the city.”

Whether traveling by the Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North, subway, bus, PATH trains, Citi Bike, or on foot, our New York team finds inspiration at every turn. From unexpected art installations and pop-ups to iconic destinations like the New York Public Library, Bryant Park, and the city’s ever-evolving architecture, these everyday moments fuel creativity long before the workday begins. All roads ultimately lead to our office in the Graybar Building at Grand Central, an inspiring destination in its own right.

For our team, New York is more than just a place to work. It’s a dynamic hub of culture, energy, and design that informs how we collaborate and what we create together.

No matter how we get here, the journey is part of the process. Here’s to New York - and to finding inspiration in the everyday moments along the way 🏙️
