Queen bed made from white oak. This piece will forever be significant because it is the first piece I delivered as a full time furniture builder. I am almost a month in now!

I do not really know what to call this design. It heavily borrows inspiration from my Mallory bed design but includes improvements (in my opinion). Should this design just become the Mallory bed or should it be its own thing with a new name?

I built this chair as a gift for a close family that had lost their infant son suddenly and tragically. The design is named Tristan after him. Today I have entered it in the 2026 Grizzly Makers Challenge. Last year my table was close to the top ten and I believe we can push into the top ten this year! But I need your votes to get into the judging phase. The first round is popular vote. There is a link in my bio that will take you to my entry!

Our daughter has recently shown a bigger interest in helping me in the shop. Having her help in a meaningful way (like handing me one screw at a time) is hopefully imprinting a belief that she can do things. I hope she feels the joy of creating and believes she can tackle obstacles in the future. I know it definitely feels good when she chooses to “help daddy in the shop” over playdough.

Pringles were my favorite chip growing up. Might have to snag a tube after this build. Photos of these stools are coming up.
