A home addition is one of the most practical ways to gain real, lasting living space without the cost and upheaval of moving to a new house. Projects like a sunroom, family room expansion, or extra bedroom add square footage exactly where your household needs it most, and a well-planned addition can blend seamlessly with your home's existing structure and style. One thing we always tell homeowners: check with your township early on setbacks and permitting, since those requirements can shape the size and placement of an addition before design even begins. This is the kind of bright, functional space an addition could bring to your home. Five Star Contracting LLC is a licensed and insured general contractor based in Harrisburg, PA (PA HIC ), bringing 20+ years of experience to additions, remodels, and full-scope construction. Here's a look at a bathroom remodel we recently completed in the Harrisburg area. This project included a full tile floor replacement, a new vanity with updated fixtures, and a fresh color palette that gives the space a clean, modern feel. A bathroom remodel is one of the most practical investments a homeowner can make — it improves everyday function while adding real value to the home. One detail worth considering in any bathroom update is proper ventilation; a quality exhaust fan helps control moisture and protects new tile and cabinetry over time. Every project starts with a clear plan for layout, materials, and timeline before any work begins, so homeowners know what to expect from start to finish. Five Star Contracting LLC is a licensed and insured general contractor based in Harrisburg, PA, with 20+ years of hands-on experience across residential and commercial construction. Another bathroom transformation completed in Grantville!

We originally came in to remodel one bathroom. While we were working, the homeowners decided they wanted us to take care of a second bathroom as well.

We also replaced the electrical panels and rewired portions of the electrical system while we were there.

We really appreciate when one project turns into another. That kind of trust means a lot to us.

A kitchen remodel is one of the highest-value upgrades a homeowner can make, both for everyday function and long-term resale value. This is the kind of bright, open kitchen a full remodel could bring to your home — granite countertops, clean white cabinetry, and layout choices that make the whole room feel larger and more livable. When we plan a kitchen project, we start by looking at how a family actually uses the space: where the traffic flows, how much counter and storage room is needed, and where natural light can be brought in or improved. Small details matter just as much as the big ones — outlet placement, cabinet hardware, and countertop material all affect how a kitchen holds up over years of daily use. A well-planned layout can also open up sightlines to an adjoining dining or living area, making the whole first floor feel more connected. If your kitchen feels outdated, cramped, or just isn't working for how you live, a remodel is one of the most worthwhile investments you can make in your home. Five Star Contracting LLC is a licensed and insured general contractor based in Harrisburg, PA (PA HIC ), with 20+ years of experience across residential and commercial construction. Here's a look at a basement remodel we completed for a client in the Harrisburg area, turning an unfinished lower level into usable, comfortable living space. A well-planned basement finish adds real square footage to a home without the cost of a full addition, and it's one of the most practical ways to gain a family room, home office, or guest space. The work involves framing new walls, running electrical and plumbing where needed, insulating for comfort, and finishing floors, ceilings, and trim to match the rest of the house. Moisture control and proper drainage deserve just as much attention as the finishes, since a basement that isn't addressed correctly can lead to problems down the road. We handle the full scope of this kind of project, from mechanical and electrical rough-in through final drywall and paint, so homeowners end up with a space that's safe, code-compliant, and built to last. Home additions are one of the most effective ways to gain real, lasting living space without the cost and disruption of moving to a new house. A well-executed addition should tie seamlessly into your home's existing roofline, foundation, and structure rather than looking like an afterthought bolted onto the side. This is the kind of new construction a home addition project involves, with framing built to match the scale and character of the home it's attached to. One thing worth understanding before you start: additions typically require permitting and inspections at several stages, from footings to framing to final occupancy, so working with a contractor familiar with local code requirements helps keep the project on schedule. It also pays to plan early for how the addition will connect to your existing electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, since retrofitting those connections later is far more costly than accounting for them upfront. Whether you're picturing an extra bedroom, a larger family room, or additional square footage for a growing household, the right addition adds functional space and long-term resale value. At Five Star Contracting LLC, we bring 20+ years of experience across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural work to every addition, from design through construction. We're a licensed and insured general contractor serving Harrisburg, PA (PA HIC ), and every project starts with a free estimate. Here's a look at a bathroom remodel we completed for a client in the Harrisburg area, featuring a fully tiled shower with modern black fixtures. A remodel like this does more than update the look of a bathroom — it improves everyday function, water efficiency, and long-term durability. Quality tile work and proper waterproofing are especially important in a shower, since even small gaps or shortcuts during installation can lead to moisture problems down the road. If you're planning a bathroom remodel, it's worth asking your contractor about their tile and waterproofing process, not just the finishes you'll see. Five Star Contracting LLC is a licensed and insured general contractor based in Harrisburg, PA, with more than 20 years of hands-on experience in residential and commercial construction. We handle bathroom and kitchen remodels, additions, basements, and full home remodels, and we offer free estimates on every project. We Design, Then We Build! Home additions are one of the best ways to add real living space and long-term value to a property without the disruption of moving. Whether it's a sunroom for more natural light, an expanded family room, or an extra bedroom for a growing household, a well-planned addition should tie seamlessly into the home's existing structure, roofline, and mechanical systems. This is the kind of bright, functional space an addition could bring to your home - a room built to extend your living area while matching the character of the house it's attached to. One practical tip for homeowners considering an addition: start with a clear plan for how the new space will connect to your existing heating, cooling, and electrical systems, since that coordination often determines how smoothly the project goes. At Five Star Contracting LLC, we handle additions from design through construction, drawing on 20+ years of experience across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural work. A kitchen remodel is one of the most valuable upgrades you can make to a home, both for everyday functionality and long-term resale value. This is the kind of bright, functional kitchen a remodel could bring to your space — think an efficient layout between the sink, stove, and refrigerator, durable countertops, and cabinetry that actually fits how you cook and store things. One detail worth planning for early: countertop material matters as much as color or style, since granite and quartz each handle heat, moisture, and daily wear differently over time. A well-planned layout also makes a smaller kitchen feel more open by keeping walkways clear and storage within reach. At Five Star Contracting LLC, we handle kitchen remodels from design through final walkthrough, including cabinetry, countertops, and the plumbing and electrical work behind the scenes. We're licensed and insured (PA HIC ) with 20+ years of hands-on experience serving Harrisburg and Central PA. Free estimates are available if you're considering an update to your kitchen.
