Another day and I'll have this room fully insulated and ready for drywall.
Interestingly when I compare the walls I've insulated to the ones I haven't with a thermal imager. The temp of the inside wall is only slightly cooler with the insulation.
Not sure it's enough to warrant worrying about insulation in an old house. But if you do gut the room it's worth the effort to insulate and close the gaps.
I also use a bubble wrap to keep an air channel on the exterior. Old houses need to breathe.
