“In the fall of 2021, I noticed a lump under my arm. I told my mom, thinking nothing of it, but after a doctor’s visit, it turned into a series of appointments after appointment. I went in for an ultrasound, scans. bloodwork, a biopsy, more bloodwork, and finally, a diagnosis, Stage 2 Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on December 2nd, 2021. I started chemotherapy on January 3rd, 2022, and went through 3 rounds of treatment. In March of 2022, after a clear PET scan, I was declared cancer-free! I rang the bell 3 months later on June 20th. While I thought I was in the clear, about a year and a half later, after a routine appointment, I was told that my cancer was back. 2 more surgeries, tons of office visits, scans, bloodwork, and 9 months later, it was a false alarm. Through all of this, I had the support of Four Diamonds and the PSU THON Community. I was paired with Phi Chi Theta in 2023 and have loved every moment. I’m so excited to be able to stand with PCT as a Brother this year and experience my first THON as a student!! WE ARE...For The Kids!”
