✨ Meet Julie Good-Kruger, the creative force and Co-Founder behind Inglenook Tile Design.
Julie’s journey started at her own historic home in 2002, where she handcrafted the very first Inglenook brick tiles. With a passion for history, design, and timeless craftsmanship, she built a family-owned company dedicated to creating authentic thin brick tiles that capture the character of antique bricks.

For over 20 years, Julie has led Inglenook Tile Design, bringing beauty and durability to homes and projects across the nation. From rustic farmhouse charm to refined manor elegance, each tile is handcrafted with care in Pennsylvania. 🧱

I've been commuting to the warehouse every day in Harrisburg (hoping this is a temporary arrangement!), and not on social media much. Instead, I've been pugging clay, loading and unloading kilns and packing boxes. Today I'm in my home office, which is a nice break. When I get home after the long daily commute in traffic, I crash.

This picture is our Wright's Ferry Bricks with the brand new Smoke color mix. I'm loving it! The first people who saw it in my office ordered it for their kitchen. We've been spreading out with some additional brick color mixes, and it's a creative pleasure to try them out and see what we get.

Presenting new color mixes!

The first picture is our smoother King Street brick tiles, and the second picture is our textured Wright's Ferry brick tiles. Both styles are about 4.24" X 8.25" at the base. Both are also available in our other color mixes.

We'll call the new mix shown on the King Street tiles "Cream City," after the lighter-toned bricks used in the Midwest. In general, Cream City bricks have a bit more yellowish tones, but there are a lot of variations within the broad category of "Cream City," since it was natural clay found in that part of the country.

The new mix shown on the Wright's Ferry bricks is called "Leola," and is in off-white and gray tones. I added one tile to this presentation board that is a dark brown/gunmetal tone, because I thought that made it pop. We can make this mix without that accent piece also. Of course, it is all custom, and you can decide the percentage of each finish in the mix.

Anything is possible!

Here is a new color mix that we're calling Lampeter. I have almost always named products and color mixes after local Lancaster County places.

It is shown here on our Lancaster Running Bond brick tiles, and also on Christiana tiles. We will have another color mix on our website soon, with a heavier saturation of this color blended with 2 other tones. It's so pretty. I just have to make the presentation board, which I would have done today if I hadn't been making corner return tiles for an old customer at the Harrisburg warehouse.

I've been working almost every day helping at the warehouse in Harrisburg lately, and have not had a lot of time to post. Today I'm working from home, so I can share these photos.

This is a special project we did for the Philadelphia Museum Of The American Revolution. We made the tiles early this year, and I just got the pictures today. Around the same time, we did a project for Mt. Vernon, and I'm waiting to get some pictures from that project too.

The bricks are our Lancaster Running Bond 2x8" tiles and Flemish Bond 2x4" tiles.

I'm trying an assortment of different color mixes. I'm settling on a few combinations, and will make some grouted concept boards next week. I plan to try some of these tones on a light colored brick also.

I've been at the warehouse in Harrisburg every day this week, and will be there most of next week too. That hasn't left me much time for posting and my office, with the long commute and days on my feet helping with the production. I can still be reached on my cell at 717-350-2336.
