Tom and I are so excited to help support a local non-profit and want to invite our local Central PA friends to join us for a fun and DELICIOUS event. TDP Trades is helping to sponsor the AKT Foundation's Soup Cook-Off which is this organization's main source of income they use to fund the help they provide.

The Soup Cook-Off is happening THIS Sunday, October 18 from noon-4pm at the Best Western Premiere in Union Deposit. As sponsors of The Soup Cook-Off, we have been provided with some free entry tickets and we want to give them away.

If you are interested in tasting some pretty amazing soup created by both amateurs and professionals, drop your name below OR, if you know someone who loves soup and want to enter them to win 2 free tickets, drop their name below as well as messaging us a way to get in contact with them if they win. (Please make sure they are available to use the tickets, first.) I will use a random number generator to choose our winners and notify you by first thing Saturday morning. I don’t know about the kids in your life, but this one is pretty amazing. He is cyberschooled so has the opportunity, if he so chooses, to go to work with Mom and Dad when there is work he can and is willing to do. How many 13 year olds do you know who would willingly spend 6 hours one day removing carpet tack strips and padding (including all the staples) then ripping out an entire master bedroom and hallway of laminate flooring only to willingly come back the next day. And now, despite spending the entire day painting (doors, baseboard, and a fireplace), he is thinking about coming back tomorrow!!! I am pretty darn proud of this kid. Thanks, Axyl, for really putting in the effort!

End of Day 4 (all hands on deck today including Axyl but not Arye who is currently working through his last semester at HACC) - all floors and stairs ready for new laminate flooring (all staples etc removed from stairs and underlayment laid where it was missing), stair trim painted, first coat on the stair walls, all trim (doors, windowsills, door frames) painted upstairs, baseboard painted and ready for installation once flooring is laid, chimney painted first coat, more drywall coating, also worked to desqueakify the stairs…

End of Days 2 and 3 (forgot to take pics on Day 2 so here is what was acccomplished) (mostly Megan and Axyl with some help from Chris at the end of the day) - all carpeting removed as well as the tack strips and padding from the bedrooms, all laminate flooring removed, much painting

Refreshed the original cabinets with a little steel wool and Old English and added dampers to make the doors more soft-close. Also created a 50*65 island on top of (4) 24” drawer cabinets.

Lots of projects done here.
1) painted trim in dining room and kitchen
2) replaced the front door
3) replaced the basement steps under the Bilco door
4) sealed up the Bilco door so it no longer leaks
5) added 4 gable vents since the new ridge vent was not working
6) replaced the front door
7) replaced the deck railing
8 power washed and painted the deck
9) repaired and painted the sunroom ceiling
