There are some calls that genuinely make our blood boil.
This homeowner had been living for MONTHS in a house that would not cool below 90 degrees. She is on a fixed income and even had to take out a loan to pay for HVAC work she believed would fix the problem.
Instead, when we arrived, we found air dumping into the attic, incomplete and unsafe work, and a system that was not doing what she had paid for it to do. She also shared that she had been pressured and threatened over money allegedly still owed for work that had never been completed properly.
And the hardest part? This contractor had been referred to her by someone she trusted.
When we finished correcting the problems, she became emotional because vents that had NEVER blown air before were finally working.
Think about that.
Something as simple as feeling cool air coming from a vent brought this woman to tears.
Unfortunately, we get calls like this far too often.
We take a lot of pride in our trade, but pride means very little without integrity, honesty, quality workmanship, and accountability behind it. Our goal is never to tear down another company or publicly call people out. But when we encounter work that is unsafe, incomplete, or potentially not up to code, we believe it needs to be documented and when appropriate, reported to the proper licensing authorities.
Homeowners deserve better, especially people who are trusting us with money they may have worked or borrowed very hard to come up with.
Do the job right. Treat people right. Stand behind your work.
That shouldn’t be exceptional in this industry. It should be the standard.
Thank you for trusting us in and with your home. We will never abuse that.
