WOW It's been a minute.... I wanted to take sec to thank everyone for hanging in there with me. I also wanted to let everyone know, if you don't already, I make guitars now! Nelson Guitars is rolling out its first two acoustic guitars for purchase!
The Nelson Sn. 20221936 has a beautiful solid spruce top, naturally stained to make the grain stand-apart, and is finished with the least amount of Satin Nitrocellulose Lacquer to ensure a good feel and free sound. There's no thick gobs of plastic finish on this preventing the wood from breathing and moving naturally. The finish will also wear with time and practice with you and the way you play the instrument. The carve on the Neck is what I am calling a 'Comfort U'. It sits somewhere between thin and fast to beefy and robust, but you'll have to feel it for yourself to know if it fits your hand and playing style.
Chances are when you think of an Acoustic Guitar, this is the one you imagine. The iconic dreadnought shape and spruce color are synonymous with this instrument. This is the second acoustic guitar made with the 'Nelson' name; Placed behind the headstock, rather than in front, in recognition that it's not about the instrument, who made it, or the shiny branding. The guitar is simply a tool to do a job. Just like the hammer and chisel, screwdriver or clamps used during assembly, the guitar is a tool used by the artist to better express what's inside.
