This past Saturday, the Commercial Interiors team joined Clark Construction for the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention's "National Capital Area Hike for Hope." Together, we walked the trail at Hemlock Overlook Regional Park in Clifton, Virginia to support this important cause.

We were proud to walk alongside Clark Construction and so many others from the DMV construction community in support of su***de prevention and mental health awareness.

This Saturday, May 30, Commercial Interiors is joining Clark Construction Group Construction and the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP) for the National Capital Area Hike for Hope at scenic Hemlock Overlook Regional Park in Clifton, VA.

The construction industry has one of the highest su***de rates across all professions, but there is help available.

Welcome back, McKenzie! During her second summer interning with Commercial Construction, she'll be diving into pre-construction processes, invoice management, and safety protocols while working closely with our leadership team. Mackenzie is an incoming junior pursuing her engineering degree at James Madison University and will graduate in 2028. We hope she will consider Commercial Construction as her career home!

Commercial Construction Superintendent Andy Statland saw an opportunity to give back and he brought the whole family. Andy coordinated a mulch delivery and brought out a skid loader to help spread it across the Strength to Love II urban farm in Baltimore's Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood, with his family by his side to get the job done right.

Shoutout to Hollins Organic Products, Inc. for the quality product and fast turnaround, and to Intersection of Change and Strength to Love II Farm for the warm welcome.

Commercial Utilities adds to our fleet!

In partnership with our friends at Carter Machinery, CU took delivery today of two new 308 excavators, a 260 skid steer high flow, and an asphalt roller. These machines are nimble enough to work on city streets with minimal traffic disruption, but powerful enough to get the jobs done!

Adaptive reuse of historic buildings presents unique challenges that are rarely a concern with other construction projects — and Commercial Construction is trusted to take them on.

First built in Baltimore in 1838, Upton Mansion was designed in the Greek Revival style and constructed with traditional materials like brick that have endured for nearly two centuries. Proper restoration and preservation of original masonry requires careful color matching of new mortar to the beautifully aged joints that have defined the building's character for almost 200 years.
